Ortiz Corporation supported the Michels Directional Drilling to install the Transbay Sewer Pipeline across the San Diego Harbor. The project consisted of…
The 8 million dollar Transbay Pipeline connects the Coronado Island with the mainland sewer mains. The pipe will convey raw sewage from Coronado Island to the sewer main on Harbor Drive. The high density polyethylene installed replaces a 24” cast iron sewer pipe installed 100 feet below the San Diego Bay.
The project included the Rehabilitating of the existing wet well and pump station. The pump station and wet well are located at the center of the Coronado Ferry Landing. This presented a challenge due to the high volume of tourist to this area.
